Baby, It's Cold Outside!!!!!

Owen got a walker for Christmas, and he LOVES it. He runs all over the place with it. He is even figuring out how to turn corners. He is so smart! Usually after his bath, we let him run around naked for a bit. Let me tell you...this boy lives for "naked baby time." And when we throw the walker into the mix...well the look on his face tells you that he couldn't be happier!

Owen has also begun to understand cause and effect...and this new revelation is slightly annoying. He is so fascinated that if he pushes the red button on the TV, that it makes a clicking sound and the picture goes away! He always gets the urge to experiment with his new learning when we are in the middle of a riveting TV show or football game, naturally.
Eventually Daddy has to go and ruin all of his fun, though and move him. It is a preventative measure really. O has taken to beating the tv screen. Let's just say a new big screen isn't in the budget!
And here is our little man, all passed out. We had 2 other couples over last night, and they brought their respective kiddos to play. Isabella P. is 10 months old, and Hudson is 8 months old. All of the babies stayed up way too late, and they had a blast crawling around and playing with each other. It was so great to have some adult time and still have the kiddos around! It is so nice to have other young families in our neighborhood with kids that are the same age. All of our kids will be in the same grade at the same school when they start kindergarten...unless I take Owen to school with me...but that is a whole other post for another time! Have a great week!!

Back to the grind.

Owen absolutely loves standing by the stairs (much to our dislike!). We play this game where he is upstairs looking over the balcony onto the hallway downstairs, and he will laugh and holler until he sees us. Then he cracks up like it is the funniest game EVER. He is a hoot. I know these pics stink, but there wasn't much light in the room, and he moves like CRAZY which equals blurry photos. How much longer until I can buy an external flash for my camera???

It was a crazy week this week! Owen went back to daycare, although he was not too happy about that. He contorted his little body every way he possibly could to cling to me when I was trying to leave. It was really sad. But, the good news is that he was having fun each day when I picked him up. :o) He just likes to throw the dramatics in the mornings, you know, to make sure I start off my day on a positive note.

I have spent the last 3 weeks searching for a photographer to take our family photos. It is so incredibly frustrating. Chris doesn't want to spend any money. He would be totally cool going to Sears and knocking it out there. (NOT that there is anything wrong with Sears AT ALL, it is just I want something more urbany/photojournalistic than that). Needless to say, this is a fight that I *will* win. I have to have fun family photos done. It is just that I use my "fun money" to buy camera stuff for myself, lol. PLUS, when was the last time Chris smiled for the camera?? Lifestyle portraits are the only chance I have at getting good family pics. ;o)

The planning for Owen's birthday is in full swing! Invitations are going out on Monday. I had so much fun making them. Okay, I am lying...it was a HUGE pain in the neck, and I didn't do the back of the card like I wanted to. But they turned out cute, none the less. Have a great week!!

Short post...

I realized today that it has been FOREVER since I made a new blog post. Whoops! :o) Our Christmas break flew by, and now I am back at work. And Owen has been home from daycare because he has a sinus infection...does it ever end??? We had a great Christmas. Owen made out like a bandit! We put some of his presents away, so that way he will have new toys throughout the year. His favorite gift seems to be his "Mader" tow truck from the Cars movie. When you honk the horn, it plays this hillybilly song, and he bops and dances to it. It is truly hysterical. My son the redneck. I guess he comes by it naturally...

In other news, over break I got 11 inches chopped off of my hair!!! I was able to donate it to Locks of Love, so that was cool. Luckily I go to the most amazing hair stylist ever, and I wasn't one bit upset about cutting my hair. She cut it, colored and highlighted it. And I LOVE IT!!!

I finally finished O's birthday invitations last night. UGH. He was so crabby because he wasn't feeling well, so he wasn't really in the mood to pose for pictures. Needless to say, THANK GOODNESS for photoshop, because I had to work some miracles, haha. Plus it helps that my child is ridiculously adorable, that helps. His invitations turned out super cute, and I plan to mail them out this weekend!
