Those eyes....

First of all, please excuse the horrible white-balance on these photos!! My son is actually NOT blue in real life. I was in the middle of doing my cousin's maternity pics, but had to snap these of Owen while he was trying to climb on me. I swear, this child is going to be the death of me. He is too cute for his own good...and he KNOWS it. He will do something naughty, and then flash me this sweet, stinker smile that melts my heart.

When we were in St. Louis last weekend, my Aunt Marlene goes, "Jen, he has really lost that baby look...he looks like such a little boy now!" And she is so right, although it takes me looking at pictures of him to be able to see that. When I am with him, all I see is my needy baby boy. Not the strong-willed, stubborn, chatterbox toddler that everyone else sees all of the time.

And have you ever seen a child who looks more like his father?! Geez! And from the looks our our 3D ultrasound of Baby Boy #2, our newest addition appears to be following in those same footsteps. (I know, Tina! I need to post pics! I will get to that asap, promise!)

Owen's New Room

Technically, it isn't a *new* room per se, but he got some new bedding, and we added some new pictures to his animal-themed room. Here is his reading area, complete with lion rug, giraffe bean bag, tub of books, and hamper full of laundry. Hey, I'm just keeping it real, folks!

This is a picture that O got from his Grandma Smith for Christmas. It pretty much sums up our little guy!

The elephant coat hanger! We now have baby bath robes hanging on it, and he insists on wearing them, even though they don't even close around his tummy. And as a strange side note, he is obsessed with elephants, but he can't say the word! He calls them "ell-doos." I have no idea where he got that!! But it is pretty cute!

Here is a dolphin picture that Chris's grandma made. It is O's favorite picture! You can also see his faux fish tank, his turtle that projects stars on the ceiling (thanks for that, Goekes!), and his rocket ship full of stuffed animals. I have an addiction to buying him those $5 stuffed animals at Kohls...they are so cheap, and he gets SUPER excited when he gets a new one. I would say that $5 is a small price to pay to see him freak out over a stuffed toy!

And here is his new animal bedding. We were at Target one snowy Sunday, and I was feeling guilty because we had just purchased new bedding for Baby Boy the day before. So I told Chris that Owen needed new bedding...and Chris gently reminded me that the new bedding that the baby gets will be one of the only new things that he gets for a while, since he will be living with Owen's hand-me-downs. But, the mom-guilt prevailed, and we saw this bedding set, and it by chance happened to match his rug and bean bag that we already had for him. It was meant to be! He loves his new bed, and he sleeps SO well in it!

"Trust me...I'm a doctor."

If we could read Owen's mind...I am pretty sure that is what we would hear! We went to Izzy's house today to do her baby sister's newborn pics (if you want to see one, you can go to www.jnicholephotography.blogspot.com), and Owen was very interested in listening to Izzy's breathing. Hmm. They were a total crack up today...they fight/love each other like brother and sister. They fight over toys, tattle on each other, and Izzy says "OH NO!" when she sees Owen drawing on the Rockband drumset. Yes, that really happened today. Sigh. Luckily Beckie got it off with a wet wipe. We are in trouble with these two kids. And now Izzy has a little sister...and Owen has a little brother on the way. Are we in for Izzy/Owen Round 2? Only time will tell!

Owen's Monster Truck

Owen, being the "all-boy boy" that he is, loves cars and trucks. Especially monster trucks. So, after seeing how much fun he had over at his buddy Hudson's house on Hudson's motorized ride-on, we decided to head to Overstock Freight to get O one of his own. Overstock Freight is in the caves between Independence and Liberty, and they sell overstocked merchandise from different stores for CHEAP! Owen felt like the gas-powered 4-wheeler was the one that he needed. We, however, disagreed. :o)

So, then he decided to test out the Mercedes. It was "just" okay.

So then he moved on to this one, that has a working radio. We didn't purchase this one in the end, because we wanted one that he could ride on in the house. We are going back and getting this one for outside use.

In the end, this was the winner! It is small, perfect for inside, and it doesn't go too fast. Oh ya, it was only $35 too. He rode it out to the car, and felt like SUCH a big shot.

So excited! He rides this thing around our house like a champ! He has even started stunting. He will stand on the seat and drive it. Obviously we are discouraging this, so please refrain from calling Child Protective Services on us. He gets so excited to ride his "mon-ser truck" when we get home every day!
