We had a wonderful Easter weekend here at the Smith house! Last night, Owen dyed Easter eggs. And in doing that, he broke 2 dozen eggs. Oh well, we wouldn't have eaten them anyways!

When we dye eggs, we set up coffee cups with the dye, and pretty much let him just go at it. This includes him cramming 4-5 eggs into one cup. The bottom egg barely made it out! It was crunched to smitherines.

This was right after my "tough" boy realized that the egg dye had turned his hand green. For a child who is the "poster child" for being all-boy, he absolutely hates when his hands are dirty. He kept saying, "Mommy! My hands! Hands! Boo-boo! Dirty!" He wanted me to kiss his hands, to make them better. It was pretty funny.

So, I tried to wipe it off, obviously it didn't come off with a paper towel. After he realized that it was not coming off, he was DONE coloring eggs, and he ran to the bathroom to take a bath, and I kid you not, he scrubbed his little hand with his soap for 5 minutes straight, haha. After it came off he kept showing us his clean hand and saying "All gone!"

Easter morning! The Easter Bunny was very good to Owen! Here are some of his little gifts. This is his "Yellow Bus Book" as he calls it. He loves seeing buses, and will say "Hi, kids!" when one drives by. So when I found this book at Barnes and Noble, I knew it was perfect! Oh, and his mouth is all contorted because he is scarfing down a chocolate egg.

Cookie Monster! His new friend! When we make cookies, which, around here is happening a lot lately, and is probably contributing to the massive amount of weight I have out on with this pregnancy, Owen will say, "Tooties! For Tootie Mon-Ter!" (Cookies for Cookie Monster!) and get ALL excited when the oven timer goes off. He will let out oa huge gasp and run to the oven and say "Oh! Tootie Mon-Ter! Tootie Mon-Ter here!" We have figured out that Owen and Cookie Monster are quite similar in that they are both very crazy, and they have a killer sweet tooth. Another funny anecdote. I asked Owen if he wanted an apple for a snack and he replied with this gem. "NO! Tooties! I Tootie Mon-Ter! Nom, nom, nom!" Oh, the imagination on this child!

Pez!

Play-Dough!

And his new Spiderman helmet that he insisted on wearing all.day.long today. He also got a tricycle, but he doesn't know it yet. He really loves watching the big kids ride their bikes, so we are really hoping he likes his trike! But as you can see from the giant bruise on his head, he is kind of a huge klutz. So we are ingraining it in his head that he can't ride ANYTHING without his helmet.

Here he is, looking for the Easter Eggs that the bunny left for him to find.

He had a great morning, and ate so much candy that it took me an hour to get him to fall asleep for his nap! But, now the candy is put away! He had his one day of fun!
In case you are wondering why I was able to do such a long blog post (not that you are wondering at all...), I can't sleep because of HEARTBURN. Oh my lands, it is bad. Bad enough the prescription medicine isn't even touching it! This is definitely one pregnancy symptom I can live without!
