Me on my due date! I was still coaching a dance team at this point, and had to go to a basketball game later that evening to watch my ladies perform. The school staff was eyeing me very nervously, probably because they were afraid my water was going to break all over the court, haha. I also had to endure the comments of rude high-school boys...."DAMN! Look at that belly!" Nice, guys. Nice.

I had grand plans for a big, chronological blog post for O's 1st birthday, but, unfortunately, I am computer stupid, and couldn't figure it out. So this post is going to be representative of how my brain truly works....kind of flighty. Hey, I teach 1st grade. You lose your sanity when you hang out with 6-year olds all day! Here is Owen getting his bath before his baptism. This was pre-tornado, by about 2 weeks or so.

When Owen was 1 month old, we had a photographer who was portfolio-building come to our house for some photos, the next few photos are from that session. He was none-too thrilled with getting pictures taken, much like his father. :o)

Chris was the master-swaddler. This photo was taken after O's first bath at home. Note the book in the corner of the crib...we used that to write down each time he pee'd, poo'd, and nursed. We gave up after about a week, since he had already put on a ton of weight. Little porker.

Oh, the first bath. We were TERRIFIED. We even took a class at the hospital at like 2 am (just an impromptu thing from one of the sweet nurses) to learn how to bathe him. He screamed the entire time. We later found out that we needed to bathe him in warm water. Yes, we were exrememly sleep-deprived.

This is where Owen and I spent many of our days while I was on maternity leave. Well, at least during the first 2 weeks while he was still sleepy. He was such a little snuggle bug. Still is, actually! Methinks this is why he can only sleep snuggled up next to me....

Our 1st family picture. :o) I was still feeling pretty good because the epidural hadn't worn off yet. I was not aware that it would feel like my guts were going to come falling out of my butt when I stood up.

Owen and Daddy, when we first got home. His little sleeper was HUGE on him, even though my son was almost 8 pounds at birth. I love this pic.

Me and Owen, when we was fresh out of the oven. I had no idea how much we would immediately love him. He was so sweet, and I remember he would stop crying and stare at me with his bleary eyes when I would talk. He didn't even have much of a conehead since I only pushed for 25 minutes!

Our 1st night home. Oh my gosh, it was rough. I thought that I needed 47 pillows in order to nurse him. I was frustrated because nursing in the begining is HARD WORK, and I was so tired because he ate every 29 seconds. Thank goodness for my wonderful, patient husband. He was so helpful, and he actually listened to the nurses in the hospital who were trying to help me breastfeed. He is amazing.

All bundled up and ready to go home! He outgrew this carseat by the time he was 5 months old. He outgrew the binky later that day.

I told you this was going to be random! Here is a pic of my in labor. (1 of the 2 pics in existence!) This is after I had vomited all over my poor nurse when she was trying to start my IV. Chris and I hadn't slept at all the night before...we were so nervous about me getting induced.

My sweet boy.

I told you I don't know how to work a computer...I have no idea why this posted twice!

Fresh out of the oven, and pissed off!!! He was not ready to be born, despite him being past his due date!

Look who can pull up! This was taken in December.

Little stinker! We later lowered the crib...even though he doesn't sleep in it, haha.

Owen learned how much he loved to help me in the kitchen. We gave him his own drawer with his toys and tupperware. He always dumps it out in a nanosecond.

I love this picture. O loves to have daddy read to him.

Owen and Mommy! He is my big boy! Happy birthday, little man!
