Owen is a klutz....

Oh, what a week. On Wednesday, Owen was walking at daycare (yes, he is walking now, by the way....but he kind of stinks at it!), and he fell by a crib, hitting his head on the corner of the crib leg. He got a huge lump on his head...and daycare called me to tell me about it. Well, later that night he started throwing up, and his pediatrician said to take him to the ER to get checked for a concussion. So, we took him to Liberty Hospital (at 3 am!) and then they gave him an IV and eventually transported him via ambulance to Children's Mercy. Not fun. Did you know that if your kid is in an ambulance, you can't ride in the back with them??? Ya, I didn't know that either. He was very angry about that. We were eventually discharged from Mercy after observation. I couldn't stay in the room while they did the IV, but Chris said that O was so scared that he was shaking. :o( I was in the ER hallway bawling my eyes out for him.

And in an interesting twist, Owen had to go back to CM on Friday, because he was still vomiting. But, they think that he eventually picked up a stomach bug and that was the cause of the 2nd round of puking. Oh, the joys. Anyways, he is doing much, much better now!!

That sounds like it was quite the nightmare for all of you! I didn't know that you can't ride in an ambulance with your child! Why is that...did they say? Glad to hear your little man is doing better though. He's going to be quite the heartbreaker with those big blue eyes!
