Today was a Monday, which usually means BLAH in our house, boring stuff likesuchas getting groceries, recooping from the weekend, etc. Nothing awesome. And today was pretty much the least awesome Monday (or any day for that matter) in, like, history. What made it so sucky? Let me tell you! (Preface: if you get grossed out by kid stuff, like STUFF, then read no more. you're welcome) (Preface 2: wade had been dealing with some "tummy trouble" aka "diarrhea" for the last two days) (pretty sure "diarrhea" didn't need quotation marks, seeing as how I just came out and said it, so....okay. moving on.) Here was our Monday.
6:00am- Chris wakes me up in a panic, because he can't find his keys. he remembers seeing owen playing with them on saturday. (Ummmm...hello! didn't it occur to you to take them and put them away right then?? thank goodness chris is so good looking...) he proceeds to tear the house apart (cushions off of the couches, toys out of the toybox, etc. it was a mess.)
7:30- he finds his spare key and is off to work. the house is a mess.
8:30- wade wakes up with the big D and promptly gets a bath. owen gets up, and they both eat breakfast.
9:00- the boys play (aka- make a huge mess that they will be too busy to clean up) while I try and pick the house up and livy naps. wade has the big D about 8 times in the next 90 minutes. which means he gets just as many baths because wipes hurt his raw bottom. which means I clean out the tub just as many times. in between trying to get the house picked up. and play with the kids.
10:30- get the boys dressed to pick up groceries (thank GOODNESS for online shopping at hyvee! i pull up and they load my order for me!) feed livy.
10:45- realtor calls asking us if we are up for having a showing today at 3:30. I have to say "yes" even though my brain is saying "WTH are you EVEN thinking?? how are you going to get your house ready while you have a 2 year old who is D'ing every 20 minutes, a 4 year old who is apparently a monkey/child hyrbid and has decided the house is his personal jungle gym, and a 4.5 month old princess who likes to snuggle???" load the kids in the car to get groceries.
11:15- heading back from hyvee, I hear sudden SCREAMS and choking sounds from the very back seat. wade has puked EVERYWHERE. and i mean EVERYWHERE and he is FREAKING out about it. owen proceeds to start puking because he is seeing wade puke.
11:25- get home, get owen out and sent inside to get cleaned up, get livy out and put her in the living room. draw a bath for wade and then head to the car to survey the damage. ZOMG, it is everywhere. seat, carseat, in his hair, clothes, owen's soccer bag, the back of livy's seat, etc. imagine raegan from the exorcist, only with purple puke because he had blueberry yogurt. (tmi? sorry) I manage to pull wade from the seat while trying not to puke myself. get him in the bath, leave owen in charge with instructions to holler at me if wade goes under the 1.5" of water in the tub. (don't worry...I literally ran inside at least every 60 seconds, it was ridiculous) i bring the groceries in and get cold stuff put away, then get wade cleaned up.
12:00- feed the boys lunch, my mother-in-law comes over, I take the carseat outside and spray it down, wrap it in a bag for the trash.
12:30- put wade down for a nap (after another bath because of more D!!!) and put livy down for a nap and feverishly begin to scrub the house for our 3:30 showing. (I had to be out by 3:00 though because I had a hair appt at 3:30 and had to drop the kids off at chris's parent's house)
1:30- look out front and decide that the grass is a little tall, so I quickly mow the front lawn to get some extra curb appeal. then I go back inside and finish vacuuming and mopping and scrubbing.
2:45- have the kids dressed and ready to load in the car (not an easy feat with 3 tiny kids!!), the house looks great, we are running on time! yay! wait, what was that? my phone was ringing. it was our realtor. the client got stuck in a meeting and had to cancel the showing. are.you.freaking.kidding.me. ARE.YOU.FREAKING.KIDDING.ME.
so, ya! that was our day! thank goodness i had a hair appointment this afternoon and i got to just go and sit BY MYSELF for 2.5 hours. I needed some recoup time! tomorrow can only be better!
